Lindsay Lohan in Car Crash

Teen actress LINDSAY LOHAN was involved in a traffic incident Tuesday
outside the Ivy restaurant on Robertson Boulevard in Beverly Hills. According to
"The Insider"'s VICTORIA RECAÑO, who was an eyewitness to the incident, Lohan's
car collided with a red Chevy Astro van on Robertson Blvd, not far from the Ivy.
Victoria says that Lindsay was having lunch at the Ivy, and was surrounded by
photographers outside the restaurant before driving down Robertson Boulevard in
her Mercedes convertible, where the accident occurred. Lindsay's car airbags
were deployed and the 'Herbie: Fully Loaded' star and her passenger sought
shelter in a nearby antique store. "They jumped out so fast I believe they left
her bag in her car," Victoria said. The man who was driving the van was taken to
a hospital. Lindsay was also taken away in an ambulance. According to a West
Hollywood police report, "Miss Lohan and her female passenger were transported
by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The male
driver of the Astro van suffered moderate injuries and was also transported by
ambulance to a local hospital." Lindsay was reportedly released from the
hospital Tuesday evening.

Paris Latsis Praises Ex-Fiancee,
Paris

The
engagement has been called off, but Paris Latsis has only kind words for his ex-fiancee,
Paris Hilton. The 22-year-old Greek shipping heir called Hilton "the most
incredible woman I have ever met in my life," in a brief statement released
Monday through Hilton publicist Elliott Mintz. "I respect her decision and
appreciate the very kind and generous manner in which she is handling her very
difficult decision," Latsis said. "This was the best experience of my life and I
will always be grateful for it." Hilton, 24, announced over the weekend that she
had ended their four-month engagement because she's "not ready for marriage" and
didn't want it to end in divorce. There were earlier reports the two families
had been concerned about Latsis' lack of a job and Hilton's busy social life.
Latsis' father, Gregoris Kasidokostas, declined Saturday to say why the couple
had broken up, but earlier had called a wedding postponement "common sense,"
according to People magazine's Web site. Latsis "is young and he should wait
(for marriage)," Kasidokostas told People last week. The couple became engaged
in late May. Latsis gave the hotel heiress/reality TV star a 24-carat, $5
million diamond engagement ring

BRITNEY SELLS BABY FOR $6M

New mom Britney Spears did not just give birth to a bouncing baby boy —
she delivered a $6 million windfall! "Britney and Kevin stand to make a fortune
as new parents," a source told The National Enquirer. The source revealed that
Britney and husband Kevin Federline expect to make $3 million for airing birth
footage on the second installment of their reality TV show. They also have a $2
million deal for a subsequent video that will document the entire story of Sean
Preston's birth. It will include every detail from the time Britney left home,
entered the hospital, had the baby, went back home and their first weeks at home
with the baby. They'll also pocket another $1 million from print rights to the
first baby photos including an interview with the couple. The lucrative deals
are just the beginning of a new money stream for the couple, who were rumored to
have had cash flow problems. Britney, 23, has been getting calls pitching
endorsement deals and she's considering a line of baby clothing. Britney and
Kevin, 27, arrived at the UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica, California, on
September 14 around 5 am in a fleet of blacked out SUVs accompanied by a swat
team. Her entourage, including mom Lynne Spears and sister Jamie Lynn, occupied
the V.I.P birthing suite and an additional seven rooms on the floor at a cost of
$20,000 a night. Sean Preston Federline made his entrance at 12:57 pm. He
weighed in at 6lbs 7oz and had a full head of straight black hair. An insider
said: "Kevin and Britney cried like babies as he cut the umbilical cord. Tears
continued to roll as the nurses cleaned off the baby and put a blue cap on him
and placed him in his mother's arms." The source added: "Britney was so
emotional — she said 'I can't believe God has given me such a miracle.' "The
surgery went off without a hitch. It was Kevin who first suggested Britney have
a C-section. "Britney was afraid of the pain," the source revealed. "Kevin
wanted to save her the pain. I think he also wanted to see his wife get back
into her sexy shape quicker." While Britney wants to concentrate on motherhood
she still wants to keep working. She has representatives negotiating a deal for
a permanent show in Las Vegas that could top $100 million, the insider revealed.
Meanwhile, Sean Preston is well on his way to becoming one of the most pampered
babies in Hollywood. Madonna sent him a huge basket of goodies and he'll be
dressed head to toe in his own free line of Versace clothing — thanks to
Donatella!

Ashlee's "SNL" Do-Over

Ashlee Simpson is returning to the scene of the
mime.
Nearly one year after the pop star danced a jig on Saturday Night Live, Simpson
will be back at Studio 8H as this weekend's musical guest. Her set list was not
known. It was presumed she would sing, not dance. Simpson had been talking up a
SNL do-over since late summer. NBC said the booking came together only late last
week. The appearance coincides with the Oct. 18 release of Simpson's sophomore
album, I Am Me. It was on SNL back on Oct. 23, 2004, that a flustered Simpson
broke into a self-described "hoedown" after her drummer pressed a wrong button,
and audiences heard her singing voice even as her mouth was nowhere near the
microphone. Shortly thereafter, SNL put Simpson out of her misery, and cut to a
commercial. "The whole situation was a bummer," Simpson told MTV days after the
snafu. The all too live-TV moment made Simpson a household name, à la older
sister Jessica Simpson, but seemed to expose her as a lip-syncher, a charge her
camp denied. The prerecorded vocals, it said, were backing tracks meant to
assist the "Pieces of Me" singer then hoarse from acid reflux disease. When
Simpson was booed at the Orange Bowl, and targeted by the "Stop Ashlee Simpson"
campaign, audiences showed they had trouble stomaching the heartburn excuse. But
Simpson kept singing, and kept trying to prove she could sing live. She kicked
off her first headlining tour in February; early reviews noted that her shows
were easy on the Memorex. ("No one sounds like that on tape," the Orange County
Register quipped.) By the time Simpson returns to SNL on Saturday, she and her
vocal cords should be more than warmed up. She has scheduled concert dates
Wednesday in Chicago, and Friday in Atlanta. A gig in Norfolk, Virginia,
originally set for Saturday, has been rescheduled for Oct. 24, owing to her
late-night TV reemergence.
